Guatemala held off Honduras in their Gold Cup (B Group) opener with finishing the game with nine men.

Defenders Gustavo Cabrera and Henry Medina were sent off near the end of the match for Guatemala. Guatemala goalkeeper, Ricardo Jerez, needed treatment on multiple occasions kept his team alive. “This tie feels like a win,” Jerez told reporters after he was named man-of-the-match.

Honduras will play Grenada in their second group match in Miami, FL on Friday.
